KNOWING A PERSON OF INFLUENCE

There are people of great means in our society today whose path to abundant wealth is a noble one. Quite a number of them have shared their secrets in biographies and interviews that have held many readers and listeners spell bound.

In this post, I try to find out what exactly was Jesus saying to the disciples in Matthew 5: 13–16, when he declared to them “Ye are the light of the world”. I have tried to present a few thoughts here to give expression to my suggestion as attributes of a person of influence.

CORE ATTRIBUTE 1: ENABLE VISION. As the light of the world, YOU ARE AN ENABLER OF VISION. We live in a dark world but as the light of the world possessing the light of God’s Word, we cannot be confused and we cannot be at loss. As the light of the world i am supposed to show the way. We must not just show the way, we are to lead the way. We are to be ahead. We are the ones responsible for confronting darkness. We must enable people discern what steps to take! The responsibilities before anyone who is an enabler of vision draws from his capacity.

1. As an ENABLER OF VISION, you have the capacity to make someone do or become something.
2. As an ENABLER OF VISION, you have the capacity to make something possible, practical or easy.
3. As an ENABLER OF VISION, you have the capacity to cause a feature to be active or available for use.
4. As an ENABLER OF VISION, you have the capacity to provide someone with the means to achieve a goal.
5. As an ENABLER OF VISION, you have the capacity to give legal power or sanction for something to occur.

CORE ATTRIBUTE 2: ENLIGHTEN OTHERS. As the light of the world, YOU ARE A PERSON THAT ENLIGHTENS OTHERS. As the light of the world, we must understand that others depend on us to take decisions. Hence we must be certain of the advise we give. As the light of the world, we must be able to help others see what lies ahead of them.

1. As a PERSON THAT ENLIGHTENS OTHERS, you have the capacity to give knowledge or understanding to others.
2. As a PERSON THAT ENLIGHTENS OTHERS, you have the capacity to give spiritual and intellectual insight to things.
3. As a PERSON THAT ENLIGHTENS OTHERS, you have the capacity to make something clear and easy to be understood.
4. As a PERSON THAT ENLIGHTENS OTHERS, you have the capacity to bring things to the fore by discoveries.

CORE ATTRIBUTE 3: NOTEWORTHY. As the light of the world, YOU ARE A NOTEWORTHY PERSON. As the Light of the world, we must be visible, accessible, reachable, comprehensible, and available. As the light of the world, it suggests that the world depends on us for visibility. Light holders are always dependable leaders. We are the ones to get the job done for the world. We are the light of the world. If we don’t do it, it wont be done. The world has issues! As the light of the world, our relevance is very evident when the world is dark. The darkness we live in now indicates that are time is ours!

1. As a NOTEWORTHY PERSON, you are someone worthy of attention because of some special feats.
2. As a NOTEWORTHY PERSON, you are someone known by many people because of some unique qualities.
3. As a NOTEWORTHY PERSON, you are someone marked by eminence, distinction and excellence.

PERSONAL AFFIRMATIONS

• I am the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. I may attract distractions but with God I can wade them all off!
• If I am the light of the world, then I must take risk. I must set the pace. I must chart the course. I must open new grounds. I must pioneer
• If I am the light of the world, I must reveal danger, I must identify opportunities, I must recognise potentials, I must spot greatness
• I am not just the light of the World, I am the Voice of the earth. I am not to whisper. I am to be loud enough for the globe to hear me!

FINAL WORD.

It is no mean talk to say that believers in God are responsible for the direction the nations go. We are the light of the world. As the light of the world, we have role to command attention in the world by resounding proofs of excellence. We were made to be gazed upon, wondered at … if only we can have proofs to validate your success.
